The 18th Global Media Forum (#GMF25) took place on July 7 and 8, 2025, in Bonn, Germany, across three dynamic new venues: the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, the Kunstmuseum Bonn, and DW's headquarters.

Under the motto Breaking barriers, building bridges, #GMF25 addressed global challenges in journalism amid evolving media and political landscapes, while bringing people and ideas together to pave the way for a freer and more connected world.

Over 1,000 participants from 95 countries and nearly 170 speakers helped shape the conversation — offering up insights, raising the right questions, challenging assumptions, and, importantly, fostering the kind of connections that matter. Catch some standout moments in our highlight video.

The Global Media Forum is supported by the Federal Foreign Office, the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Foundation for International Dialogue of the Sparkasse in Bonn, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Commissioner of the Federal Government for Culture and Media, and the City of Bonn.
