Callamard, Dr. Agnès

Agnès Callamard is the executive director of ARTICLE 19, a human rights organization with a specific mandate and focus on the defense and promotion of freedom of expression and freedom of information worldwide. Callamard is the former chef de cabinet for the secretary general of Amnesty International (AI). Throughout the world she has investigated human rights abuses, especially women’s rights, and worked extensively in the field of refugee and international displaced person’s movements. She has published broadly and holds a PhD in political science from the New School in New York.
