Chingobe Mooba, Rudo

Rudo Chingobe Mooba has been an activist in the Zambian women’s movement for more than 15 years. After a long time with the Zambian Young Women’s Christian Association, she now works for Women and Law Southern Africa (WLSA). With regards to women’s human rights, Mooba is particularly focuses on youth, reproductive health and gender based violence. She is engaged in sensitizing people on gender based violence, including direct work with police, the judiciary system and journalists. Mooba strongly believes that “culture and tradition is dynamic and can evolve. Therefore we should strive to ensure that women achieve the liberty and freedoms that men are enjoying.”
