Koch, Marc

Editor in Chief, DW-RADIO/ONLINE

Marc Koch is an avid fan of literature, football and Spain. His CV is proof that they make a great combination. Born in south Hesse in Germany, the range of subjects he has covered over the course of his journalism career has filled literary sections and sports segments alike.

Koch studied literature and in the early 90’s wrote for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. In 1991 he joined a regional public broadcaster, Hessischer Rundfunk, where he completed a bi-media traineeship. After that he continued to work for Hessischer Rundfunk as a reporter, editor and presenter. He served as a correspondent in Paris and Bonn when it was still the capital of West Germany. He was head of the ARD (German public broadcasting network) radio studio in Madrid for three years before becoming the editor-in-chief of DW-RADIO/DW-WORLD.DE in August 2009.
