Philani Mthembu is a scholar of international relations from South Africa, where he studied at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and attained a Master's degree in international relations while also involved in tutoring first-year students under the Academic Development Programme (ADP). Mthembu is currently a PhD candidate at Freie Universitaet Berlin (FUB), in the Graduate School of Global Politics (GSGP). His dissertation focuses on “The Rise of Emerging Powers as Sources of Development Cooperation in Africa”
Mthembu participated in the fourth course of the programme “Managing Global Governance”.
