Director, LitCam, Germany
Karin Plötz is director of the non-profit literacy organization, LitCam. Previously she was the director of the education segment of the Frankfurt Book Fair, where she created and implemented the "Literacy Campaign", a project designed to help diminish worldwide illiteracy, in 2006.
Before joining the Frankfurt Book Fair, Ploetz worked for the Handelsblatt publishing group in Duesseldorf, where she headed the marketing department. In 2000 she became the Product Manager for Wirtschaftswoche heute, the online version of the German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche. Prior to her work in the publishing business, Plötz worked for advertising and PR agencies. She holds a degree in history and sociology from Heinrich Heine University in Duesseldorf.
